TB is still a major global threat. Secretary General of the United Nations, Ban Ki-moon in his message for the celebration of the International Day of tuberculosis, which international place March 24 each year, he noted the situation.
He said that the disease occupies two numbers to infect and kill the world and that statistics show that in 2010 nine million people fell victim to tuberculosis projects where 1.4 million of them died in the developing world.
He said tuberculosis causes severe blow to families and communities. Millions of children have lost parents.
Children living with affected family members are more likely to be hit hardest by the disease. Since it is not easy to verify the presence of the disease on the patient's body. Therefore, this year we intend to expand the understanding of how children are affected by this disease, "he said.
He admits that joint efforts have helped reduce deaths by 40 percent since 1990. 46 million people have been healed from 1995 due to the efforts of the United Nations, governments, donors, civil society, the private partners, health professionals, and tens of thousands of health department staff with families and affected communities.
This demonstrates how the disease progresses to persecute the world, so if he gave rai Ban Ki-moon, the joint efforts of the nations more needed in eradication. Tanzania is among the most widely yanayosumbuliwa disease. Information about the disease indicates that Tanzania is a country of 18 of the world's 22 countries with large numbers of patients.
Moreover estimated that each year are diagnosed more than nine million people have the disease and more than two million people die around the world. According to the statement issued by the Minister of Health and Social Welfare, Dr. Hadji Mponda, this week, TB has been increasing from day to day in approximately 11,000 patients diagnosed in 1980 to reach 63,453 in 2010. However, the minister says research conducted by his ministry in collaboration with the World Health Organization (WHO) in 2003 and 2004 revealed that the AIDS epidemic constitutes a 60 percent increase in tuberculosis in the country.
Such an increase is stated to be caused by crowds especially in urban areas, slums and delays in securing medical care. In 2009 for the first time Tanzania started providing treatment to drug-resistant TB (MDR-TB) in hospitals Bong Auto Siha District, Kilimanjaro and more 70% patients were cured. This service has helped save the lives of many Tanzanians who were dying without medical help for sure.
First we appreciate the efforts of the government in response to various diseases preoccupy citizens including chest
Tuberculosis and AIDS. Strong and powerful impetus regulated in Ensure that the disease fully controlled.
Tuberculosis and AIDS. Strong and powerful impetus regulated in Ensure that the disease fully controlled.
And in reducing costs in the treatment of the two diseases which yanaoneana kunyemeleana, the government has put mechanisms in all hospitals whether private or government to ensure that TB drugs available to AIDS patients free.
As such, they should ensure that their patients are taken to the hospital early so they can get treatment quickly heal and resume construction of the nation. It is not reasonable to see people hiding sick or someone to see signs of the disease, then shame emerging testing for treatment.
The motto of this year in the national celebrations held in Mtwara is Nitatokomeza Tuberculosis period of my life. It is a message that you are pointing that each of us has a responsibility to ensure that we participate in the eradication of this disease.
There are people who have symptoms of tuberculosis but are afraid to go for testing if they think they have the virus. Lo, these people if they are going to test and diagnosed tuberculosis, there are medications to treat the disease completely, unlike HIV which medicines are just as antiretroviral therapy and vaccine yet.
Our society should consider to change the education provided by the government through the centers of health care and hospitals with various organizations, including religious organizations to completely eradicate these diseases.
Substantial and consideration are sick go to the hospital to seek treatment and those who care to follow the instructions and precautions to prevent infection.
If all health regulations are further consideration, we believe that the number of TB patients in the country decreases dramatically and perhaps eventually eradicate completely. Probably each of us to participate in this struggle.
